Michael: Life drawing/linocut
I made a linocut of one of my drawings from one of our recent life-drawing sessions. Keeping it simple: just black and white.

Linocut, 18 x 18cm.

Richard - Sketches of Bella
Something a bit different this week. Bella brought along her cellos and we had a couple of sessions during which we drew while she played. I'm still working on my painting, but here are my sketches.

Richard - The Registry Office
Something a little different this week, with Jane alternating between 2 poses for 20 min at a time and changing costume each time. I really needed another hour or so to tidy it up. Someone suggested I call it 'The Registry Office'.

Michael: Guy
Today at the life drawing group, everyone produced some inspired work with our new model.
Here are my three warmup drawings, and a longer pose.

Pencil on paper, A4 or A3.

Michael: Hands, feet, and toes
Life drawing again.

Pencil on paper; sketchbook pages.
Several things going on here: I'm learning how to use cross-hatching to create tone and volume, and I'm using two grades of pencil to add more variety to the marks. (The pencils are HB and 2B -- or it might be a 4B; it's so old and well-used that the legend has long ago worn off.) In the last picture, I created the background with cross-hatching, and then softened it with a putty rubber.
